O-Town Curious About 'Popstars'

Members of the new boy band O-Town, which was created as a result of ABC's reality series "Making the Band,'' say they'll be checking out the latest take on the idea, the WB's "Popstars.''

"I think all across the board we're pretty excited to see how that's going to turn out, just because we've all been through it and it's going to be weird to see it from the other side,'' Trevor Penick told The AP in a recent interview. "There's going to be girls in our same position.''

On "Making the Band,'' which premiered last season, hundreds of hopeful entertainers auditioned for a spot in the band that eventually became O-Town. The five-member group released its self-titled debut album last month. A new season chronicling O-Town begins in the spring.

"Popstars'' is basically the same format, but the group will consist of women.

Members of O-Town said they would be interested in meeting the group once it's formed. "They could be our soul mates,'' Dan Miller said.
