Beyonce Warns Fans of Music Biz
Destiny's Child singer Beyonce Knowles has warned wannabe pop stars to stay away from the music business.
In an interview with British magazine Radio Times, the singer says she wouldn't recommend music as a career for any young person.
However, the 20-year-old beauty insists that she and fellow group members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland will "remain together for as long as we have fun on stage and make good records."
She adds, "But I wouldn't suggest this as a career for anyone. My younger sister Solange loves performing, and in the beginning I didn't want her to do it."
"It makes you happy but also sad. Some deal with it, others can't. It can drive you crazy and mess with your head. You have to be super-strong because people say things about you. As I get older I care less about that."
"We heard rumours that my parents took custody of Kelly. That wasn't true. Dad's very strong, but he was hurt. He treated all of us like his kids. That stuff can tear a family apart, but sometimes it makes you stronger, as it did us in the end."
Knowles co-stars as Foxxy Cleopatra in the forthcoming Austin Powers movie.
