Joey Fatone's Arresting Joke

'N Sync star Joey Fatone had to endure an anxious few hours in prison - after a police officer pal played a trick on him.

The 30-year-old singer made a mockery of his New York Police Department (NYPD) friend at a party, so his bandmate Lance Bass teamed up with the cop to play a major prank on Joey.

Lance explains, "One of my friends from the NYPD fell asleep and Joey and his friends through it would be funny to film themselves wiggling their butts in his face.

"I showed the tape to my police officer friend and he woke up and he thought it was funny, but he wanted to get revenge.

"We all went out to a club, I made sure everyone knew something was going down - well everyone except Joey. Towards the end of the night, the police turned up and evacuated the entire club and took Joey off. They handcuffed him and drove him down to the station.

"When we got there, they had him locked in a cell. We're playing along, screaming, 'Let him go,' while the police are trying to calm us down. Then my friend, the one who had fallen asleep, pops his head around the corner and says to Joey, 'That'll teach you to mess with the NYPD!' It was so funny."
