Jamie Lynn Spears Pursues Fame

Jamie Lynn Spears, little sister of Britney, is expecting no favors as tries to follow in her successful sibling's footsteps.

Jamie Lynn, who has confirmed she wants to become a star, knows it won't be easy making it in showbusiness.

The precocious youngster says, "Having Britney as my big sister is definitely an advantage. Of course it will open doors for me. But getting in the door and getting the job are two different things.

"No one is going to cast me just because I have a famous sister. I'll get the job only if I'm the best person who shows up to the audition."

"I don't think the fans want me to be Britney number two anyway. There's only one Britney and only one Jamie Lynn and, whatever I do, I hope I'll be accepted as my own person."

Jamie Lynn has already modelled for a Kids 'R' Us fashion show and has high ambitions.

She says, "I want to do what Britney does. Sing, dance, act - I want to do it all."

Jamie Lynn has signed a contract with US channel Nickelodeon to star in "All That," a kids' show that has successfully launched other young stars. She also appeared in her big sister's movie "Crossroads."

But she will wait until the time is right to launch her pop career.

She says, "I'm too young to do a CD. I think Mom and Dad and I will all sit down and decide when the time's right for me to try something like that."
