Aaliyah's new album is expected to hit stores next month.
The still-untitled record will feature a mix of new up-tempo numbers and ballads Aaliyah produced shortly before she died, Time magazine says.
Aaliyah died in August 2001 when her chartered plane crashed moments after takeoff in the Bahamas.
