Britney's Ex-husband's Girlfriend 'devastated'

The former girlfriend of Britney Spears' ex-husband is distraught at the pop star's short lived marriage last weekend.

Britney, 22, and Jason Alexander married in a supposedly spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony at 5am on Saturday, after staying up all night partying - before moving to annul the union later that day.

However, according to friends of Alexander's former girlfriend Corie Miller, 22, Jason had become obsessed with Britney a month previously - and had ended their five year relationship because of the sexy singer.

One pal says ,"They had a tumultuous relationship but Corie fully expected them to get engaged and marry. But he suddenly dumped her before Christmas. Next thing she knew, he was hanging around with Britney.

"She was upset enough about that, but when she heard about the marriage, she was devastated. This has really kicked Corie down. She is really, really upset."

Another friend adds that Alexander, who grew up in the same Louisiana town as Britney, had a reputation as a bad boy at school.

They say, "Jason was a real wild child at school, the class clown. Everything was a joke to him.

"He and Corie were very much together but he cheated on her a lot. I think she probably knew but turned a blind eye. But this thing with Britney is a real shocker."

Despite Alexander, 22, seemingly indicating yesterday he still considered a relationship with Britney a possibility in the future, his sister Amanda, 18, has dismissed the marriage as "something crazy" which "we all knew was a joke".

However, according to reports in today's British press, Britney visited the Caribbean island of Nevis with Alexander and her family for four days before then travelling to Las Vegas.
