Spears Postpones Single

Britney Spears has been forced to postpone the release of her new single over fears her short-lived marriage over the weekend will affect sales.

The pop star created shockwaves around the world after supposedly spontaneously marrying her fellow 22-year-old childhood friend Jason Armstrong in Las Vegas on Saturday, only to file for an annulment later that day, explaining the episode away as a "joke gone too far".

Now bosses at her record label Jive have now delayed the planned release of Toxic until March 1st and are considering banning any public appearances by Spears to promote it - fearing questions about the wedding will dominate.
