Tearful Janet Meets Lost Childhood Pal

Janet Jackson burst into tears during a live interview last Friday when she was reunited with a childhood friend.

The singer brought Hollywood Boulevard to a standstill when she arrived at the Hollywood and Highland complex in a Rolls Royce and then performed live as part of her hour-long appearance on Live On Air with Ryan Seacrest.

And Seacrest rewarded the pop superstar for agreeing to appear on his show by reuniting her with a beloved childhood friend she last saw 30 years ago.

A delighted Janet burst into tears and explained how she mentioned her friendship with Kendall Seymour on an Oprah Winfrey show in the hope that someone would track her down and reunite them, but the segments were cut from the broadcast.

She told her friend, "I've been searching for you. How did you find me?"

Then, Janet thanked host Seacrest for the surprise and explained, "Growing up, I didn't have a lot of friends because I was always working and Kendall was my best friend.

"I've been searching for you. I didn't know where you were."

Seymour explained she travelled around a lot and now lived in New Jersey with her new husband.

And the tears really flowed when Janet's old pal told the singer how she had helped her shape her life after they first met when the two were just six.

She explained, "Kids can be very cruel and I was very kinda shy and chubby and I didn't have very many friends either and Janet chose to be my friend.

"I wanted you to know too that who I've become as a person and all the values... everything that's dear to me - being caring and being kind - all of that I learned from you. You are the kindest, gentlest, warmest person I've ever known. I've been amazingly proud of Janet."
