Outkast's MTV triumph

Outkast triumphed at this year's MTV Video Music Awards winning a staggering four awards.

The hip-hop duo's smash single 'Hey Ya!' beat Britney Spears, Usher and Jay-Z to the coveted Video of the Year award.

They also won prizes for Best Special Effects, Best Art Direction and Best Hip-Hop Video.

Beyoncé Knowles, who looked stunning in a '70s-style gold hot-pants suit, was thrilled when she won Best Female Video for 'Naughty Girl', while her fiancé Jay-Z picked up three awards for '99 Problems' - Best Rap Video, Best Editing and Best Cinematography.

No Doubt's 'It's My Life' won prizes for Best Pop Video and Best Group Video and Usher - who wowed the crowds by performing topless under an on-stage shower - won Best Male Video and Best Dance Video for his chart-topping single 'Yeah!'.

He took the opportunity to quash rumours of a feud with Justin Timberlake, saying: "There's no competition between me and Justin."
