Green Day: 'We're Still Punks'
Comments
Green Day reject accusations they've sold out by becoming one of the world's biggest bands, insisting they've never compromised their punk morals on their path to fame.
The Grammy-winning band have rocketed back to international stardom after securing a number one album in both the US and Britain with their 2004 album American Idiot.
However, they furiously blast those who claim their success has stripped them of their punk rock roots.
Singer Billie Joe Armstrong says, "We never kissed anyone's a*s to get where we're at. We still do everything on our own terms, even though we're apparently the world's biggest alternative band right now."
"Punk rock is about being an individual, doing whatever you want and always breaking your own rules."
