B5 Gig Halted After Fan Furore

US boyband B5 were forced to abandon a free gig yesterday after frenzied fans stormed the stage mid-way through their shopping mall performance in Minneapolis.

Police closed the venue when screaming teenage girls started grabbing the band members' clothes and fighting each other for the attention of their heart-throbs.

Four people needed hospital treatment for minor injuries as a result of the hysteria, and a further five were treated at the shopping centre.

Witness Theresa Curtis says, "Things were falling off the stage, girls were falling off the stage, girls started fighting."

Over 2,000 fans travelled to the Brookdale Center show, which was sponsored by local Radio Disney station Kdiz-Am.
