Diddy & Ferdinand Launch Anti-Violence Gig
American rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs and English soccer player Rio Ferdinand are organising an anti-violence gig in London, in a bid to end gun and knife crime on Britain's streets.
The concert, which will take place at either the O2 Dome or Wembley Arena next year, will feature a host of hip-hop and rock stars.
The collaboration follows a spate of gun and knife attacks involving young teenagers in London over recent months.
Both men are already involved in anti-violence campaigns in their native countries. Manchester United player Ferdinand fronts an anti-knife crime campaign in Britain while Combs, whose father was shot dead when he was just three, is an anti-gun crime campaigner in the US.
Ferdinand says, "It's so important to me to get the message across that there is no point in carrying a knife."
Combs adds, "I have been touched by gun crime personally. I have lost friends and I want to get the point across that the violence has to stop."
