Busta Convicted Over Assault

Rapper Busta Rhymes has been sentenced to three years' probation for assaulting a fan and his former driver.

The star - real name Trevor Smith - was accused of beating fan LeBron James on Randall's Island, New York and his driver Eddie Hatchett in two separate incidents in 2006.

On Tuesday, Smith, 35, was also ordered to perform 10 days of community service, pay a $1,25 fine and court costs. Smith must also enrol in a drunken driving program.

Following his conviction, Ryhmes says, "I have no trouble being a good dude because that's what I am," adding he wanted to get back to "having fun, making music, running around and showing love."
