Is Avril Lavigne Soon To Be Single?

Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne and Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley have broken up after three years of marriage, reports Us Magazine.

"She dumped him and told him she was leaving him. She wants to move on," the insider said. "Divorce papers will be filed any day now."

Us Weekly's latest issue reports that Lavigne has recently ordered Whibley to move out of their $9.5 million U.S., 12,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion.  They report that Lavigne will be filing divorce papers soon, and that Whibley is "crushed" she is leaving him.

The magazine said it couldn't reach Lavigne's representative for a comment and Whibley's publicist declined to speak about the matter.

Lavigne and Whibley married in 2006 after dating for two years. Rumours the couple's marriage was in a rough state began circulating around this time last year. The couple denied the rumours.

Curiously, recent reports had stated that Lavigne's new studio album was to include many songs co-written and produced by Whibley.  This now brings into question whether the expected release date of her next album will be changed and whether the album will be released at all.
