Lady Gaga Helping Dad Heal After Surgery

Lady GaGa is praying for her father's speedy recovery after he underwent open heart surgery.

The 23-year-old pop sensation was in the hospital to comfort her dad Joseph - who she has previously credited with saving her from drug addiction - as surgeons prepared to operate on Thursday.

The Poker Face star then took to the internet to tell fans the procedure was successful.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes: "My Daddy had open heart surgery today (Thursday). And after long hours, and lots of tears, they healed his broken heart, and mine. Speechless."

She later updated her page to read, "At the hospital. Giving daddy a footrub while he falls asleep. He's my hero."
