Drake Lands Wonder for Upcoming Album
Rapper Drake has landed his musical idol for a forthcoming album - he has recorded a series of duets with soul legend Stevie Wonder.
The Forever hitmaker, real name Aubrey Graham, is preparing to release Take Care on his birthday in October and he reveals Superstition star Wonder played a big part in creating the sound for his sophomore disc.
In an interview with Canada's Much Music TV network, Drake says, "Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I'm honoured to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business...
"He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience...
"Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six. It was incredible."
Wonder also showed his support for Drake at the Ovo Fest in Toronto on Sunday when he joined the hip-hop star onstage for a surprise 20 minute performance, during which the pair performed Wonder classic My Cherie Amour.
Wonder wasn't the only special guest at the music festival - Lil Wayne, Nas and J. Cole also hit the stage unannounced during the gig.
