The PreZcotts - Breaking Down "GOSSIP" With Positivity

They’re fun, they’re cute, they’re stylish and they have a message for teens everywhere! We’re talking about the sensational PreZcotts , the sensational sister group from Modesto, California.  TeenMusic had an opportunity to talk with 17 year old AnaLeyna, the eldest of the four PreZcotts about their music, performing with her  sisters ChaLyn, 15, RaNelle, 14, and MaRiah, 12, and their big hit G-O-S-S-I-P!

TeenMusic:  Hey AnaLeyna, it’s great to have a chance to finally talk to you! You and your sisters must be incredibly busy these days.

AnaLeyna: Oh, gosh, we really are. It’s been so much fun!

TeenMusic: Well, we know you’re busy so let’s dive right into your music. You’re the songwriter of the family.  Your songs are so uplifting and they have incredibly lyrics. What would you say is your main message in your music?

AnaLeyna: We really want everyone to know that, you know, no matter what you go through in life, things are going to be okay and that if you stay true to yourself and be strong, you can really get through it. I think this isn’t just for kids and teens that come to our concerts, but for kids everywhere. We really want to get that message across.

TeenMusic:  So how did you all start singing together?

AnaLeyna: My mom was a worship leader in our church and I used to sing along with her. Pretty soon my sisters started singing with us. It was amazing to hear us start to sing together like this and feel our voices just blending together. It was really special.

TeenMusic: Your fans are of all ages, just like your family.  What’s it like working with your sisters?

AnaLeyna: They’re so great. I can’t imagine doing any of this without them.  We’re a really strong family. Like, my little sister MaRiah is so funny and she really keeps us focused on having fun.  And then there’s RaNelle who is going through a lot of things I went through and we can really talk things out as a family. If there’s a time I’m feeling down or one of the others is feeling down, we pick each other up.

TeenMusic: What is your song “GOSSIP” about?

AnaLeyna:  That was a really fun song to make. It just seemed to really come together so easily.  I think everyone has been touched by bad gossip and words can be powerful, so we really wanted to share this message that gossip is really not healthy and is destructive. The song was inspired by our own experiences in school with bullying and gossip, but it’s also inspired by our fans.

TeenMusic:  So what’s up next for you and your sisters?

AnaLeyna: Oh the possibilities are endless.  It’s all where the fans want to take us!  We love getting out there and sharing our music with the fans. We love them!

TeenMusic:  Are you excited about your new CD?

AnaLeyna:  We really are!   I can’t wait for our fans to hear us!
