West Hits Back At Concert Criticism
May 5, 2008 - World Entertainment News Network
Kanye West has hit out at the media criticism he received after his concert in Houston, Texas was hit by technical difficulties - insisting the press were unfair to give him bad reviews.
The Touch The Sky rapper was playing a concert at the city's Woodlands Pavilion on Friday when side screens at the venue failed to work.
And West was accused of launching a tirade of obscenities and storming off stage, only returning when the problem was fixed.
But the star insists he was just frustrated by the technical problems as it would have hindered enjoyment for his fans.
He writes on his Internet page, "We were having a lot of technical issues due 2 (sic) the heat. The 2 huge screens on both sides of the stage were glaring bright blue like when your Dvd player acts up at home. I asked for them 2 (sic) turn the screens off 3 times because it was distracting 2 (sic) the show. The fans were not getting what they paid for. I admit, in my frustration, I did use profanity on the 4th time I asked. I stopped the show 2 (sic) go over and check it out myself."
And West was angry to find out many media outlets reporting he had thrown a tantrum and stormed off stage.
