British singers Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse are hoping to put their recent troubles behind them - by working together on a new track.

The star was released from prison last week after serving 29 days of a 14 week sentence for violating his probation, but admits his bandmate Mick Whitnall has been hard at work on a collaboration with the troubled Back To Black singer.

He says, "Mick and Amy have a great relationship. They have been working on material while I was in prison."

"When I came out I went straight to the recording studio. I just want to get music going."

And Doherty is confident he will stay clean by immersing himself in music: "It's great news really because we've (Babyshambles) been told we will be doing a third album. That will keep me busy and hopefully out of trouble."

Earlier this month, Winehouse collaborator Mark Ronson stopped work on the forthcoming James Bond theme with Winehouse, telling the media, "I'm not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet."
