Ne-Yo: In His Own Words
May 29, 2008 - Sonia Murray
Mableton resident Ne-Yo is traveling the country on the Alicia Keys tour. He has spent much of his time in a London hotel penning his upcoming album "The Year of the Gentleman" and is in Los Angeles when he calls.
Nevertheless, the Grammy-winning R&B singer has still managed to get to know his new hometown pretty well in the two years he's, well, at least gotten his mail here.
Here's Ne-Yo's Atlanta:
For a big meal it's usually...
"Really, places you can find in and outside of Atlanta, like Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Chang's. I've been eating a lot of P.F. Chang of late. The Singapore Street Noodles are it.
"Oh, and there's a place in Atlantic Station I like too --- Strip. The spinach dip is good. And you can't get good spinach dip everywhere. Houston's is first; but right after that is Strip."
To dance that big meal off...
"You know, the club thing is cool --- Velvet Room and [Jermaine Dupri's] place, Studio 72. That's a cool little spot, too. But I prefer places like Noir [in Castleberry Hill]. That's more my speed. It's more of a lounge space on one side, and the other side's a club. I'm more lounge."
The go-to place for party gear...
