The Rock The Bells rap festival was an all-star affair on Long Island, New York on Sunday when Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes and Slick Rick made surprise appearances.

Jay-Z stunned rap fans at the Jones Beach event when he joined Nas for two songs.

The two rap heavyweights performed Black Republican and Jay-Z's Success anthem.

Meanwhile, Rhymes gave the reunited A Tribe Called Quest's headlining spot a little star power when he joined them for a version of Scenario.

And Method Man and Redman's set was awash with special guests - DJ Kool, Slick Rick, Keith Murray and Epmd all joined them for an energetic show.

Earlier in the day, De La Soul performed with Biz Markie.

The Rock The Bells festival heads to California for a show in San Bernardino on Saturday.
