Lil Wayne Re-signs with Cash Money
Sep 21, 2008 - World Entertainment News Network
Rapper Lil Wayne has signed a new deal to keep him at Cash Money Records - the label that launched him when he was just 12 years old.
The Lollipop hitmaker has agreed a multi-album deal with label founders Bryan 'Baby' Williams and Ronald 'Slim' Williams, who have mentored the 23-year-old since he joined their imprint as a youngster.
This summer, Lil Wayne scored major chart success with Lollipop and his sixth solo album Tha Carter III, which has sold more than two million units in the U.S. to date.
But Slim warns fans to expect a lot more from the budding superstar.
He says, "Tha Carter III is just the tip of the iceberg with Lil Wayne. The best is yet to come."
