Britney Spears is planning to tour the world again in 2009 after fans gave her comeback single Womanizer a big thumbs up over the weekend.

The pop superstar phoned into New York's Z100 radio station on Monday morning to thank fans for their support, and when she was asked about the possibility of forthcoming concert dates, she gushed a tour is "definitely planned".

She said, "Definitely next year and probably around the world."

Spears' last world trek, 2004's The Onyx Hotel Tour, ended in disaster when she had to scrap dates following a knee injury.

The Toxic singer also told Z100 that her comeback started with her triple-gong win at the MTV Video Music Awards, including the honour for Video of The Year (Piece of Me) - something that took her completely by surprise.

She added, "It's a cool video, but I think, by far, I've done videos that are way better, so I was really shocked that it got the award.

"It was just inspiring, though, because now, going forward with the videos that I'm doing now, I can really go there and do something crazy and see what happens."
