Teen sensation Miley Cyrus turned her Sweet Sixteen bash at Disneyland in California into a family affair on Sunday, with performances from her father Billy Ray, her sister Brandi, and her boyfriend Justin Gaston.

The Hannah Montana star doesn't turn 16 until 23 November, but Disney bosses threw a special bash for her at the theme park, closing it to the public for the day.

The big event - which was attended by an estimated 5,000 people, who each paid $250 for a ticket - also saw guest appearances by former supermodels Tyra Banks and Cindy Crawford, comedian Steve Carell, and actresses Jennifer Love Hewitt and Demi Lovato.

Cyrus' country singer dad helped to open for the birthday girl, and performed his hit song Achy Breaky Heart with his daughter Brandi and guitarist Gaston, reports People.com.

The young star then took to the stage for a four-song performance, during which she told the crowd: "This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!"

After her set, the audience sang 'Happy Birthday' to the star before being treated to a fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty Castle.
