Alicia Keys Leading In American Music Awards Votes

Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, the Eagles, Coldplay and Lil Wayne will lead the 2008 American Music Awards after claiming multiple nominations on Tuesday morning.

Keys leads the pack with five nominations, including Favorite Female Artist in both the Pop/Rock and Soul/R+B categories and Artist of the Year. Coldplay garnered four nominations for Favorite Artist in the Alternative Rock category, Favorite Band Duo or Group and Favorite album, for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, in the Pop/Rock category and Artist of the Year. The Eagles also earned four nominations, including Artist of The Year.

Lil Wayne and Chris Brown round out the 2008 Artist of the Year nominees.

Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift, the Pussycat Dolls, the Jonas Brothers, Pink and New Kids on The Block will perform at the 36th annual Amas, which will be hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel on 23 November.
