Beyonce Knowles are her sister Solange will both perform in New York on Wednesday at the city's annual tree-lighting ceremony.

The superstar sisters will team up to launch the festive activities at the Rockefeller Center.

The annual ceremony will also see performances from stars including Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Harry Connick Jr. and Faith Hill.

Britney Spears was due to make an appearance at the event, but has instead taped a pre-recorded message, which will be aired during the TV broadcast.

Organiser Bob Holmes says, "This year brings more star power than ever before, for the lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree.

"We couldn't be more proud of all the people who have come together to make this special happen for all the families tuning in."
