Rap sensation Soulja Boy delayed work on his new album to donate toys to underprivileged kids in his native Atlanta, Georgia.

The Crank That (Soulja Boy) hitmaker, real name DeAndre Ramone Way, is due to release iSouljaBoyTellem later this month - but he has put promotional work on hold so he can give his time to the sixth annual Toyz N Da Hood charity drive.

The campaign donates presents to children throughout the festive season and the hip-hop star is delighted to be involved in such a worthwhile project.

He tells Allhiphop.com, "It's all about putting smiles on kids' face this holiday season,. I'm happy to do anything I can during these hard economic times to make a kid's holiday season a little brighter. Growing up I didn't have much, so I can relate to these kids and know how important it is to them. To see how excited they get when we donate all these toys is worth anything I can do to make that possible."
