Miley Cyrus' songwriting skills have been hailed by the country rocker she collaborated with on Grammy-nominated hit I Thought I Lost You.

The song, which Cyrus co-wrote and performed with Jeffrey Steele to accompany animated movie Bolt, is nominated for Grammy and Golden Globe awards.

And music veteran Steele insists his teenage partner deserves an equal share of credit.

He says, "I was amazed at her sense of where the story had to go within the song. I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised."
