R+B star R. Kelly's divorce from his wife Andrea has been finalised.

The couple was married for 11 years.

In a joint statement, their Chicago, Illinois-based lawyers have explained that details of the divorce settlement will "remain confidential," adding "the family requests that their privacy be respected during this time."

Kelly and his wife separated in 2005.

Despite filing for an emergency restraining order against her ex shortly after they split - claiming Kelly had physically abused her, Andrea recently explained that she and her ex had "a bond that we will have for the rest of our lives because we have children."

The couple share two daughters and a son.
