American Idol champion David Cook has reportedly split from his singer girlfriend Kimberly Caldwell.

The pair began dating shortly after Cook was crowned winner of the seventh season of the hit TV talent show in spring 2008.

But according to People.com they have now ended their romance, although no official reason has been given for the split.

A magazine report recently claimed that Caldwell, who was a contestant on the second series of American Idol, was seen cuddling up to a bar manager.
